- Historical (4 Movements) and Role Play to illustrate one movement Preview Reading Assignments: Pilgrimage to Nonviolence, Public Statement from 8 Alabama Clergymen, and Letter from the Birmingham Jail

- Debrief "Pilgrimage" (Think, pair, share)/6 debriefing topics/responses
- Aggression/Conciliation
- King as a "Hegelian" thinker – 4 Step Analysis of MLK and applying the principles; Information Gathering (Gas Meter exercise)
- Debrief "Letter from Birmingham" include Letter from Clergy
- Six Steps "The Skill" and an example to demonstrate the steps
